This impressive fort, set on a high hill was built by Rao Jodha in 1459 AD, when he shifted his capital from Mandore. Standing guard to the city below, it overlooks the rugged and rocky terrain and houses a palace, intricately adorned with long carved panels and latticed windows exquisitely wrought from red sandstone. |

Jaswant Thanda Is a pillared marble memorial to the popular ruler Jaswant Singh II(1878-95). The ancient capital of Marwar has cenotaphs of the Jodhpur rulers. Rare portraits of Jodhpur's rulers are also displayed at Jaswant Thada. |

Umaid Bhawan is popularly called Chittar Palace by the local public, the foundation of this grand piece of architecture was laid on 1929 by Maharaja Umed Singh. It is made on the Chittar Hills in South Eastern direction of the City. Now it has been divided into 3 functional parts, one having a five-star hotel, one is the residence of the royal family and one has been opened for public where a few pictures, arms, swords, and other things used by the royalties have been exhibited. |
